Barrier Nappy Rash Cream

Uses: Diaper Rash, dribble rash, chafing, teething rash, and most other non serious rash.

Function: Barrier Nappy Rash Cream has a unique action of both healing and protecting the skin all at once. Natural ingredients are used to reduce redness and irritability of the skin while protecting from further damage caused by moisture and outside irritants. Is effective in all types of rash particularly diaper rash. Use as a cure and a prevention.

Who Can Use it: Newborn and up.

How we use it: Make sure the area is clean and dry. We apply it to any area prone to rash; bottom, face, behind the knees, elbow joints, under the neck, chins and cheeks.

Plant a flower day...

Today is plant a flower day - why today well I have no idea and it seems not many people do, so instead of blogging about plant a flower day I will blog about one of our favorite flowers - chamomile.

Chamomile meaning capable of anything is especially useful for children as it is extremely safe to use and incredibly versatile. From earache to toothache to dry itchy skin to calming an irritable baby. Chamomile is very calming on the emotions which is useful for allergy conditions as many allergies are brought on by stress.

The most important action of chamomile is that it is soothing, calming and anti-inflammatory, therefore valuable in treating any condition where irritation or inflammation occurs, such as sunburn, skin allergies, sensitive skin and acne.

Given all this information how could we not use chamomile extract in our BabyBaby skin care products, it is perfect for infants delicate skin and has the added bonus of keeping them calm.

TIP: A well known sign that your baby is teething is when the cheeks become red and inflamed looking. Massage a small amount of BabyBaby Moisturising Body Lotion into the cheek area; this helps reduce the redness and the chamomile extract helps to soothe the skin as well as the pain from teething. This is an option to use along side medication and natural teething remedies.

So on plant a flower day why not consider planting some chamomile. Many choose to plant it in with the lawn so when you cut the grass you get the sweet aroma of the chamomile flower - a great way to soothe the chosen one to mow the lawn who no doubt is wanting to be anywhere except there!

2B Adult Acne Five Steps

Just when you thought your bad skin days were over along comes adult acne. If you suffer from adult acne you are not alone. Adult acne affects 25 % of men and 50% of women at some time in their lives. Acne is a result of the hair duct being clogged with your own skins natural oils, fats and dead skin cells. Adult acne can be embarrassing and depressing especially when as a teen you may have had perfect skin. A good skin care regime can often help adult acne. We recommend:

2B Cleansing Gel: Use twice a day morning and night. You may use a gentle face cloth to slough off dead cells after cleansing but ensure you use a clean cloth each time you cleanse. Our cleanser is water soluble so you can also splash rinse it off or use in the shower. . If you have pustules splash rinse your face rather than use a face cloth.

If you wear make up please cleanse twice at night to make sure all make up is removed. I would recommend purchasing a mineral based make up which is not going to clog your skin.

Do not be tempted to cleanse more often than morning and evening as this will only aggravate your skin.

2B Facial Spray: It seems in adult acne bacteria plays a huge role. It is important after cleansing the skin of excess oil and dead skin cells to restore the skins natural balance. This is achieved with our 2B Facial Spray with natural plant extracts and pure essential oils with anti bacterial properties to protect the skin from harmful bacteria.

If you prefer not to wear moisturizer during the day you can use the facial spray as your hydrator. You can keep it in your purse and spray over make up to freshen up your skin throughout the day and keep skin bacteria at a minimum.

2B Facial Exfoliant: One of the problems with adult acne is as we age our skins own sloughing slows down. Dead skin cells stick to the skin and clog skin pores so our own natural oils and fats can not eliminate properly. Gently remove dead skin cells once or twice a week with our 2B Facial exfoliant. This process need not take up any extra time-use it in the shower or as a facial mask in the bath. Also improves the look and texture of your skin. Use with care if you have acne roseaca.

NB: If you have pustules use this product like you would a facial mask. Apply to skin and leave on for 5-10 minutes before rinsing. I recommend using this product at night and wear sunscreen during the day.

Do not be tempted to over use the exfoliant 1-2 times per week is plenty.

2B Multi Healing Balm: Anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory. Use this on any pimples to heal, reduce redness and to prevent further breakouts. Use around areas of breakout as a regular part of your routine not just when you have the breakouts.

Acne is caused by bacteria that live on the skin. I recommend using Multi Healing Balm as prevention as well as a cure. Apply to the areas that tend to break out even when a breakout is not visible. This product will also help heal scaring.

2B Daily Moisturiser: Not just for day time use at night too or only at night if you do not like to use too much moisturizer. Contains Vitamin A – a well documented skin normalizing ingredient which also reduces redness and improves scaring.

Don’t be afraid to use a moisturizer. Adult acne can often be a result of dry/dehydrated skin. 2B Daily moisturizer will not increase oil in your skin it will normailise the skins oil processing so that you produce only what your skin needs to maintain skin health.

Additional Help:

• You may want to take a look at your diet. Are you eating enough fresh fruit and vegetables? Aim for a diet high in zinc, vitamin A, C & E and Vitamin B.
• Are you drinking too much coffee, tea, alcohol or soft drinks and not enough filtered water? Do you know it takes 8 glasses of water to rehydrate after just one cup of coffee?
• Is your body eliminating properly. Constipation can add to the problems on your skin.
• Body Brushing: Help your body to eliminate by using a loofah or body brush to remove dead skin cells from the entire body. This improves circulation and blood flow and helps to improve the overall health of your skin. Do not use on your face.
• For severe adult acne you may wish to consult a homeopath or physician.

Aromatherapy in baby skin care

There are many factors that combine to lower the quality of our lives and our state of health. The times when we get sick is when we can least afford to; when we are busy, when we are emotionally weak, when we are stressed. Our immune systems become weak when our mind and body are over exerted, when we are depressed, when we are going through change.

By using aromatherapy on a daily basis we are not only boosting our immune system through the oils themselves but through the effect the oils have on our mind, body and being.

Children are not immune to stress it just occurs in a less obvious way. Stress in a child goes undetected. Think about the child who is overtired and grumpy-she doesn’t settle even though she is tired, refusing to sleep. Exhausted she finally falls into fretful sleep. The next day she wakes up with symptoms of a cold.
