When we heard about a fundraiser to help little Shanade Tallentire make her dreams come true we couldn't wait to be part of it. This story has touched our hearts and our thoughts are with Shanade and her family.
There is nothing more heart breaking than hearing that a child is sick. Instead of feeling just empathy a community have come together to help make Shanade's dreams come true.
Shanade Tallentire is 7 years old. She has a brain tumor called a diffuse intrinsic glioma. Its growing in the part of the brain that controls the central nervous system. Doctors have given her 6 months to live, and she will more than likely be confined to her bed within the next month.
Shanade's dream was very simple and one many of us take for granted - a trip to Auckland Zoo to see Cheetah Cubs.
Shanade's wish has been granted and money is now being raised to help with costs associated with the trip and to help her family.
An auction has been started on Sella Lots of cool things have been donated for auction from NZ businesses greatly due to the hard work put in by Jess at Exquisite Baby
Many companies have also made donations so friends could decorate Shanade's bedroom. It is heartwarming to see how many people are prepared to make a difference to this family to ensure their days together are memorable.
